When the parade of 85 Copperstate 1000 classic cars departed one-by-one from Tempe Diablo Stadium April 6, it was evident that Porsches were the favored marque. There were 16 Porsches entered in the 35th edition of this Arizona premier event, which is limited to cars produced by 1974.

One of the most important of this group was a beautiful Signal Yellow 1973 911 RS owned by Karl and Jeani Durkheimer, a car they’ve driven on the Copperstate before and that they’ve shown at various events, including the Quail, the Luftgekuhlt, and the Porsche Parade.
