On Saturday, November 9, a phalanx of Porsches attacked the cones at Arizona Motorsports Park in Litchfield Park. If you missed this one, there are more where that came from. Just click on the “autocross” link under the “club events” tab above.

An autocross (sometimes abbreviated to Autox) is a fun competition in limited space without hitting scary speeds (hold it in second gear) and, done right, without striking any of the defenseless traffic cones. It puts a premium on driving skill, using it if you have it and learning it if you don’t.

The entry fee is $60. You need to register before the date. If you have a good helmet, bring it. If not, arrange to rent one. You can also register a passenger and give your spouse or friend a thrill!
